Nokia Lumia 800 sees first Nokia update roll out
Nokia Lumia 800 has just seen the first update roll out from Nokia’s end. The updates which comes hot on the heals of the 7740 update from Microsoft is said to improve certain aspects of the Lumia 800 that users have complained about and/or that have been brought to Nokia’s notice.
Nokia Conversations has a nice little list outlining the improvements that this update brings and I thought I’d list them out here as is for you to see.
- Charging improvements
- Voicemail notification improvement
- Replying to mail improved for Microsoft Exchange 2003 users
- Improved display switching in bright light
- Improved audio quality
Nokia is saying that updates cannot be all at one go and it will be in phases (spread over two weeks) so if the update isn’t there yet for your device, you may best just hold on a wee bit longer, or may be try to have Zune push it to you, just like the Mango update. I’ve not tried to see if that works, so you can give it a try and let me and the others know. Here’s the guide in case you were wondering how to go about it.
Nokia has stated earlier that this will be the first of two updates to fix the alleged battery charging issue. The second one is expected around early 2012 to deliver more improvements to the software and mitigate the charging woes.
For further details on the updation process, here’s the a good starting point – product support pages.
If your Lumia 800 has already received the update, do let me know about any improvements you’ve noticed!
