Nokia’s newest apps for Lumia devices!

At the Windows Phone summit, It wasn’t just Microsoft who made announcements, but it was Nokia too that made some announcements. Nokia outlined some of the newest apps that will be hitting their Windows Phones globally.

Let’s list ‘em out for you:

Camera Extras

From the video above you can see what Camera Extras is all about. This new suite of extensions to the Lumia phone, will greatly improve the capabilities of the Nokia smartphone. It adds new settings that will allow you to take pictures that you’ve never been able to take before.

  • Smart Group Shot: Capture great group shots in just one attempt by choosing the best faces from a burst
  • Action Shot: Capture fast-moving action shots with just one click and significantly improved shooting speed
  • Panorama: This new control feature makes it easy to capture beautiful panorama shots by finding the image in the sequence
  • Self-timer: Set up your Lumia on a stand and get yourself into more photos

This will be available in Marketplace for the US and China by June 22nd. It will be available for all other countries in July.

Contact Share

Contact Share is an app that will allow yo to share contacts in your phonebook with another person via SMS or email.

Counters

Counters is one of the most important features for Lumia smartphones. it will allow users to keep a track of their data usage and therefore know when they’re likely to shoot past their data plans. in addition to data plans, you will be able to keep a track of calls made as well and hopefully even set limits for both.

Contact Share and Counters will in Marketplace for China by June 22nd. It will be available for all other countries by July.

PlayTo

PlayTo as an app has been available in Nokia Beta Labs, and it seems that with this announcement, the app is moving past the ‘beta’ tag and straight into full scale commercially available app category.

PlayTo will allow you to share pictures, videos and music from your Lumia smartphone to other DLNA –enabled devices on your network. PlayTo will be in Marketplace globally by June 22nd.

Oh! and do remember to connect your Lumia 710 and 800 to your PC to get the Tango update!
