Nuance has acquired Swype a Seattle based company for more than $100 million.

Nuance have their own T9 predictive text input software which was devloped in early 90′s and is on par with Swype’s text input software. The co-founder of Swype Cliff Kushler is also the founder the T9.

Swype is an innovative text input software which is popular on Android OS. Swype lets users input text by just swiping their fingers across the screen instead of tapping which increases text entry speeds not only on mobile phones but also on Tablets.

Michael Arrington from Uncrunched first broke out with the news. Apparantly, Swype has mentioned on their homepage that Swype is now a part Nuance and more details to follow soon.
