At the Samsung earnings call yesterday, Samsung confirmed that the Exynos 5250 SoC is going to go into production in Q2 of 2012.

Samsung’s executives has stated that this dual core processor will first see action in tablets and later on cell phones.

Our friends at SammyHub have a crisp description of the specs of the new Exynos processor. The processor will be packing in 2 Cortex A15 chips (that’s 2GHz of processing power) and will be capable of supporting WQXGA resolution, that’s a whopping 2560×1600 pixels. Much more than full HD which maxes out and 1080p.

The superior graphics capability will also be a key feature, it is reported to offer four times the graphics capability of the Cortex A9 SoC. The Cortex A9 SoC as you know is employed in the Tegra 2 chips from Nvidia.

Looks like very soon our phones will be faster than our laptops and PCs!
