Scope: A New App To Aggregate All Your Social Networks Including Tumblr and Instagram
I recently happened to come across a very interesting and extremely useful app a few days ago. This the kind of app that I’ve been looking for, for a long long time. The name of the app is called Scope. The app integrates all the major social networking sites into one, simple interface. This way, you don’t need to keep checking all your various apps to see what your friends have been upto.
This app integrates you Facebook, Twitter, Tumblr, Foursquare and Instagram all, into one feed. You get a lot of apps like Tweetdeck, Seesmic that integrate Facebook, Twitter and Foursquare, but this is the first app that I’ve come across that integrates Tumblr and Instagram into the same app.
The app allows you to post a message, picture or a checkin to facebook, twitter, tumblr and foursquare all at the same time. Posting a picture to Instagram is not supported yet, however, I believe that this functionality is in the works and should be ready by the time the final release.
In case you want to go through your feeds, you have an option of browsing them all at once, or browising only the picture, or only the videos, or you can individually also browse each of your feeds from different networks.
There is also an option of browsing the most popular topics or even the most popular photos from the app.
However, please note that this app is still under beta testing, so there are going to be some bugs in the system, hence it would be unfair to do a review of the app as of now. However, having said that, I have been using the app on my Galaxy Nexus with Jellybean, and I haven’t come across any issues with it yet. The app is very stable, and also very functional.
In order to use this app, you first need to request for an invite. You can do that here. Just click on the “Request Invite” button and register your email address. Depending on the slots available, you may get an invite. I got mine within a few minutes. In case you are not able to get an invite within a day or so, mail me on email@example.com or tweet me at @dnyan and incase I have any invites left, I’ll definitely send one your way.
You can also tweet us at @WOPdotNET and incase any of us have invites, we’ll send them your way. However, make sure you’re first following our @WOPdotNET twitter account.
On a personal note, this is one of the best social networking apps I have come across in a long time. I just cant wait to see how good their final release is going to be.
