Sony launches Xperia Ion in HSPA flavour for Europe

Jun 13th, 2012No Comments

Ever since the Sony Xperia Ion was launched at CES 2012, Sony fans across the world have been pressuring Sony to release an HSPA version of the phone so that the rest of the world can get in on some of the action as well. I can’t blame them, I remember I was impressed with the the Sony Ion’s looks.

So it seems while announcing the Miro and Tipo devices, Sony slipped in the news that the Ion is now available sans the 4G goodness of AT&T. Which means that a worldwide launch is on the cards! (OK, it’s just Europe for now) The Ion is a 1.5GHz dual-core CPU powered superphone, a 4.6″ HD screen and a 12MP camera and runs GB flavour of Android (no wait! that doesn’t sound good!). I hope they upgrade it to ICS by the time it actually hits the stores!
