Sony Xperia Ion: Sony's first LTE smartphone

AT&T is on a roll here….

They’ve announced another LTE device and it an Android one. It is also Sony’s first LTE device.

The basic specs are pretty inspiring!

  • A 4.6-inch 720p display
  • A 12MP camera with the ability to take pictures in just 1.5 seconds
  • 1GB of RAM
  • 1.5GHz dual-core CPU.

The phone will be shipping with Gingerbread in 2012. But with ony already testing ICS builds, there’s a guarantee that this one will also move on to ICS as well.

The Ion is also a Playstation certified device, so it will have access to the Sony Entertainment Network.

This one is going to be an AT&T exclusive! No idea on pricing and launch dates expect for somewhere around 2Q 2012.
