Jul 11th, 20121 Comment

Twitter app for Android and iPhone have received an update. In this update we now see expanded tweets which provide a glimpse of the content right inside the tweet details page. Twitter has added several partners like MLB, C-SPAN etc. Also content from Etsy, Vimeo and Kickstarter will also be shown right in the tweet details page only.

Search autocomplete has also improved, now shows suggestions for people when you are searching. For iPhone users get a better layout for live events.

And lastly Notifications. Now Twitter for iPhone and Android will be able to get push notifications from a particular user whenever they Tweet or Retweet. Turn on push notifications for Tweets for any user via the action button on their profile, and edit these notifications in your account settings on your device.

Other platform users will have to wait for sometime for the update.

This is an excellent post. Although a word of precaution for all is that always avoid downloading from those sites that are not authority sites for any update to any software or app. Sometimes Trojan viruses get downloaded. My Android phone went through this problem and I had to run Norton antivirus to get it through. Yes Norton is now providing this feature as well.
